Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences is a mid-rise hotel in LP Leviste Street near Jaime Velasquez Park. What's striking about the hotel is that apart from their mostly white walls they painted parts of their walls with abstract, colorful hues to live up to the honored artist's name.
We reserved for a studio room or "Malaga" room as they have branded it (the other room is a suite called "Barcelona"). Just to add an extra trivia, Malaga is Pablo Picasso's birth place and Barcelona is his second home town.
The customer service of Picasso Hotel is exemplary: from the time that I called them (was answered by "Steve") to the time when we were checking in and to that very moment when we were (sadly) checking out. More than saying that the staff are friendly, they are professional in accommodating their guests and did so well in making everyone feel welcome in their temporary home. Prior to entering the hotel, the hotel's parking attendant made sure that we were able to park safely by guiding us (parking is free but is on a first come, first serve basis). We were given with bottled water upon our arrival to cool us down while we waited too.
The lobby is not spacious but was utilized so well. They had their Christmas tree and decors up when we visited so the entire place looked grand. They made it a point to make everything look colorful yet elegant. Some other guests can lounge in the area near the elevator where there is a makeshift chimney.
We were given our door passes which have Picasso's works on it (deep down I wanted to bring it home). The room number signage is equally attractive too.
We were pleased at the sight of our room upon entering. We have more than what we need. They have a mini kitchen area where guests can use the induction stove, microwave and electric kettle. Our attendant even gave us a free Php300 voucher for their mini bar (Merry Christmas to all of us indeed).
Ruling theme of their Malaga studio room is red-green. In the picture below you'll find two separate bed, a television, a desk / working area and a balcony.
Notice how the painting, tissue holder and the trash bin's designs are all the same.
They gave us a free calendar too (and this is not the plain-looking calendar that will go unnoticed and end up dusty in your desk's bin or somewhere else)!
There are restaurants and convenience stores near the area. Since it was New Year's Eve, not all stores were open but Wild Flour, Toby's Estate, Starbucks, Coffee Bean, Subway and New Bombay were all up (most of them were open until 6PM).
What's excellent about the stay is that they have free wi-fi. They have FREE, EXTRA SPEEDY wi-fi that can connect FIVE GADGETS, mind you. I haven't been this happy in my other hotel stay.
Our family bonded here and we definitely had a great, relaxing New Year's Eve. What a way to welcome 2015.
